"I had no idea sangría was so simple…and so Spanish as well, what with all the citrus and cinnamon!" – Trevor

1.5 bottles red wine 2 oranges 1 lemon 1 cinnamon stick 3 tbsp sugar (optional) 1 green apple (optional) 2 peaches or apricots (optional) Citrus or plain soda (optional) 2 oz brandy or vermouth (optional)

If using the sugar, make a simple syrup and let cool.

Wash the oranges, peel off large chunks of the rind, then juice them.

Then repeat with the lemons!

Add the wine to a large pitcher and stir in the citrus juices, rinds, and simple syrup if using.

Give it a good stir and add in any additional spices, fruits, or alcohol you want to use.

If using the soda, add that in right before serving. Enjoy with your favorite Spanish tapas!
