Recipe: Shrimp Skewers (Brochetas de Gambas)

One of our favorite tapas in Malaga are shrimp skewers - so good!

  • 50-60 shrimp medium sized
  • 6 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 5-6 wooden skewers
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • Salt
  • paprika


  • Coat the part of the skewers where the shrimp will go with olive oil
  • Peel the shrimp and stick them on the skewer trying to keep it as symmetric as possible.
  • Chop the 3 cloves of garlic, then coat the skewers with the garlic and olive oil adding salt and a generous amount of paprika to taste.
  • Grill the shrimp on one side until they begin to turn white, then turn them over to cook on the other side.
  • Serve with a slice of fresh bread and ali-oli (garlic mayonnaise)
