Planning two weddings was difficult. I won't let anyone tell you differently! But, all said and done, I wouldn't change them for anything. Each one was special in its own way, with different vendors, themes, and guests. From the very beginning photography was extremely important to me. For our Spanish wedding I did a lot of research and ended up with a fantastic photographer based out of Cadiz, Spain. María Benitez is amazing. Anyone getting married in Spain should hire her ASAP. Watch our slideshow if you have any doubts!
The American wedding took a different turn as our resources grew thin. I just couldn't fathom spending such an extravagant amount on a photographer-- even more than it cost me in Spain! So I turned to Craigslist to try to find someone reasonable who could capture our special moments at a reasonable cost. When I came upon Caitlin's advertisement I was certain it was too good to be true. Free photography all summer in order to build an aspiring wedding photographer's portfolio? Hmm... it sounded great to me! I took a look at her website and saw that she could definitely take a good picture, so I contacted her and hoped for the best. Not only was she available, but we were soon able to meet in person and I realized that she would be just perfect. She was nice, professional, and obviously loves what she does.
Caitlin arrived to our wedding with her second photographer (and fiance!) and started shooting. I barely noticed that they were there. They stayed the whole night (far past dinner and the first dance) and ended up capturing some amazing moments. I can't thank Caitlin enough for the great job she did and wish her all the best for the future. If you like her pictures leave her a comment; I'm sure it would be appreciated!

How lucky you were to have found Caitlin for your stateside wedding! She really captured the details of the day.
And, Maria's photos are simply stunning! The one of you guys under the tree is so dreamy, but my favs are ones in full, vibrant color.
Chelsea
What an absolutely gorgeous wedding!!!!
Lauren
Thanks Chelsea!

Wedding photography is so much more of a "thing" here, if that makes sense. I think that people are much more into it. Also, the engagement photography is very much "Let's meet in a field and frolic" than formal stuff, like I think it tends to (still) be in Spain.
Anyway, gorgeous photos. I'm sure it was a great ceremony.
(I can't wait for this too.)
Lauren
Wedding photography is much more expensive in the states too. I lucked out with Maria here, she was a steal!
