Vacations can be stressful. Sounds contradictory, but it's true. It's complicated trying to see a new city where the locals may or may not speak your language, you don’t know your way around, and of course, everything is new and exciting but also unfamiliar.
Need a break? Here are five ways to slow down and relax in Malaga to help you recharge.
5 Ways to Relax in Malaga
1. Take a walk on the beach
One of the simplest ways to relax in Malaga is by heading down to the water. Malaga is a beach city that offers the luxury of being able to walk from the city center to the shore of the Mediterranean in about 15 minutes. Two of the best city beaches are the Malagueta and the Misericordia. Both offer the relaxation of a walk on the beach and that wonderful ocean air. Take a book and a picnic lunch and make an afternoon out of it!
2. Enjoy a cup of tea
There are several tea shops, or teterías, in Malaga. These are often decorated with beautiful lamps and Arabic inspired artwork. One of the best ways to relax in Malaga is simply by sipping a cup of tea and watching the world go by.
3. Unwind at the Hammam Al-Andalus Arab Baths
These baths, located right in the center of Malaga, allow you to relax with a massage or a relaxing bath letting the water wash away your stress. The surroundings are beautiful and will instantly put your stress and worries out of mind. With five thermal baths at different temperatures, a steam and hot stone room, in addition to the tea corner, the scent corridor and massage room, you are sure to have a relaxing time. Remember to check out the different packs and offers available to book the perfect experience for your taste!

4. Visit the Botanical Gardens
Another great way of relaxing in Malaga is by taking a stroll through the city's botanical gardens. Originally founded in 1855 by Jorge Loring Oyarzabal and Amalia Heredia Livermore, these gardens were meant to be one of Europe's finest gardens with exotic plant species from around the world. They've since been declared both historical-artistic gardens and an item of cultural interest. If you want to escape the crowded streets of the city center and enjoy the tropical plants and flowers, this is the best place to come.

5. Enjoy a drink on a rooftop terrace
What better way to relax than by sipping on a cool drink with gorgeous views from a rooftop terrace? Relaxing in Malaga has become even easier with the beautiful terraces with views of the port as well as the historical center of town. Either way, with the night breeze, it's a great place to cool off on a hot summer night or enjoy the beautiful city without having to rush around.
